CARDS AFTERNOON
St. Andrews Card Group has been running for 17 years and we thank two ladies (namely Irene & Freda) for having the idea to get it started.
The first meeting began with just 7 people, but soon more people joined, coming from the Aged Care, Independent living areas, church members and also the general public.
I can’t tell you every detail about what happens at meetings, but the Card Group meets every Monday except public holidays at the Aged Care Coolibah Room starting at 1-30pm.
Members donate $1.00 and receive a lucky door ticket. Money donated is used to support Charities. This year $400-00 was sent to 8 different charities.
Card play finishes at approx. 3-30pm followed by afternoon tea which is supplied and served by several members. Each person receives a cake for their birthday and on break-up day and everyone receives a Xmas gift with a tract attached. Much chatter and laughter can be heard which makes for a very enjoyable afternoon.
