LUTHERAN WORSHIP
· We regularly come together to worship God. By the power of the Holy Spirit we are fed by God’s Word, and are strengthened by remembering our Baptism and through receiving Jesus' body and blood with the bread and wine in Holy Communion. We also receive and offer encouragement to one another in our walk of faith.
· We study and teach God’s Word. The Bible is a central part of our Lutheran worship services. The Holy Spirit comes to us through God’s Word and we are reminded of both our forgiveness and our call to live as his followers.
· We baptise. We believe that baptism is a gift from God through which the Holy Spirit works to bring us into God's family. Water used together with God’s Word brings to us God’s gifts of forgiveness and eternal life. Through baptism we are joined to both Jesus' death and resurrection. Because we believe that baptism is God’s work, not ours, we also baptise babies, and we believe that a person need only be baptised once in their lives.
· We celebrate Holy Communion. We believe that in the bread and wine of Holy Communion we also receive the true body and blood of Jesus. Through this we receive the assurance of the forgiveness of sins and the gift of eternal life.
· We pray to God, praising and thanking him for all he has done for us, and handing our cares and concerns over to him.
· Through hymns and songs we praise God as the Creator and Saviour of us all.
